History of our world is full of legends and great people. Great people are famous rulers, explorers, navigators, painters, engineers and scientists. Today I will tell you some more about them.
Leonardo da Vinci was born in a small village in Tuscany 15th April 1452. He had a lot of talents. He became the amazing painter. He painted 15 paintings, but just 2 survived. One of them is Mona Liza. He was an amazing engineer and inventor. He designed a lot of machines, wrote many scientist's notes and many sketches. Some of them are working today. He died in 1519. He is a legend, let's tell some more about Mona Liza. This painting is legendary.
Once Peruggia ( Louvre's worker). He stole this picture and stored it for 2 years. He tried to sell it, but once police caught him, but gave him a short sentence in prison. After prison he opened his shop.
There are a lot of legends about her. For example the legend about her smile.
There are many amazing rulers in the world. They ruled countries and captured their enemies. My favorite rulers are Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan and Alexander the Great. Let's talk about amazing navigators and explorers.
Pilgrims were amazing sailors. There were 100 people in their team. The captain was Christopher Jones and Ship called Mayflower. They sailed from England to in "The New World" for a better life. This trip made many people from team ill, because weather was bad. Some of them died.
Today many people like Pilgrims , like a legends.
For example we can take the legend about Lara the mermaid. She lived in Amazon river. Once she sat on the rock and singed the sad song. Men listened and started crying. After that he came back to this place next day. He waited a lot and one moment she took him and jumped to the water. The end!
Do you know who is Frida Kahlo? She is one of the most famous female artists in the world. She was born in 6th July 1907 in Coyoacan, Mexico. She had a dream to become a doctor and in 1922 she began to studying medicine. At the age of 18 she was in a bus accident and spent a long time in bed.
She had a mirror next to bed and she painted herself. When she was 21, she met the famous artist Diego Riviera. They married in 1929, but their marriage was hard. After 9 years she had her first exhibitions. She died on 13th July 1954 in hometown. Let’s come back to talk about navigators and explorers.
Christopher Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy in 1451. He had a passion to be navigator and explorer. He had an idea how to sail to India, but it was crazy. People made fun of him, but King and Queen helped him and he sat sail from Spain in 1492 with 3 ships: Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. He sailed to America and explored it. He car back with spices, cloth and gold. After that he made 3 more voyages to America. Today Anerica is one of the best places in the world. It’s great. Thank you, Christopher! Russian navigators are nice too.
Kruzenshtern was born in Estonia on 19th November 1770. In 1787 he joined the Russian imperial navy. Alexander 1st gave his permission and in 1803 Kruzenshtern, commander of Nadezhda and Captain Lisyanski, commander of Neva set sail. The leader was Rezanov. They sailed to establish trade with China and Japan and to make trade with Americans. This voyage lasted more than 3 years. They came back in 1806 after the first round the world trip. Kruzenshtern created maps and drawings. He became an admiral in 1841 and died in 1846 in Estonia.
I am going to finish with Guinness world records. It’s too hard to make the record. Martin Strel from Slovenia swam a 5,268 meters on the most dangerous river Amazon in 66 days. This record is amazing, because Amazon is full of crocodiles and piranhas. Chris Dzoan did the Rubik’s cube in in 7,08 seconds. It’s unbelievable! I like world records!
Our history is full of great people and legends. We need to always remember our heroes. They made too much for us and our planet, we need to know history. Thank you, great people!
